PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Standard Sealing for Continuously Filled Vessels
Where a dry running design earns its place in vessels that run empty, the single agitator seal is built for the opposite condition — reactors and mixing vessels that stay filled throughout the process, where the liquid itself keeps the contacting seal faces lubricated and cool the way it would in a conventional pump seal. That contacting-face construction keeps the design simpler and more economical than non-contacting alternatives, while still needing to handle the greater shaft runout and deflection typical of agitator shafts compared to pump shafts. Installation follows the usual vessel-seal sequence: the housing mounts to the top or bottom flange, the shaft passes through the seal bore, and face compression is set before the assembly is locked down and checked for runout tolerance.
